                                Timer Menu
                                ==========

Set your Timer preferences here. There are two ways to access the Timer
Menu: either from the Config Menu, in which case you can save your
changes to the configuration file; or from the Timer Display (DO on the
Timer Display), which is intended for current session changes only.

<T> Use Timer Switch the Timer on or off

<A> Auto Let the program work out the standard time within
                        which to complete the game

<U> Count up Measure the time taken to complete the game. The
(Timer) Timer stops counting after 999 seconds (giving
you a five second warning before this happens)

Auto has to be switched off to use this option

Note: You can choose whether Timed games should
count towards your score or not. See the Game Menu

<D> Countdown When this option is switched on, you can set the
countdown time by adjusting the countdown dial

Auto has to be switched off to use this option.
Count up and Countdown are mutually exclusive.

The Countdown dial:

HIT the arrow above or below one of the three digits to increase or decrease
its value by one unit - or use the shortcut keys:

<7> up 100s
<8> up 10s
<9> up Units

<1> down 100s
<2> down 10s
<3> down Units

DOing an arrow increases/decreases the unit in greater steps.

<L> Last record used in connection with Countdown: Always sets the
best time as the new countdown value
                        (Not yet implemented)

Note: Putting the game to sleep is the only way of pausing the Timer!

Note: If you find the timer's Auto calculation too harsh you can "cheat" by
editing the timer "factor" variable in the config file. A value
between 20 (stressful) and 30 (positively lethargic!) should be ok.
      The default is 25.

                                   End
